Your local Powell Pharmacy Travel Consultation Pharmacist are immunization certified and specially trained in travel health. All vaccine and medication recommendations are based on the latest national guidelines and CDC recommendations. All Travel Consultations are appointment only and should be scheduled at least 6 weeks before your date of departure. This ensures enough time for starting certain vaccination and medications. Travel Consultations last 30 to 60 minutes. The pharmacist will review your travel itinerary, health risks and the discuss prevention strategies including vaccinations, medications and over-the-counter items. You’ll receive educational printout personalized for your travel itinerary, and copies of the Travel Consultation documents will be faxed to your primary care provider. Your pharmacist will work to stay in contact with you and offer support for medication related concerns during your travel.
